Welcome to Skaphandrus.com. The Skaphandrus.com was designed to give divers easy access to information about the diving world, with information sent by the whole diving community and, at the same time, information posted by our team. We hope that this way we will be able to help to spread the scubadiving before not only the ones that already practice it, as to advertise it to all of those who didn’t dive yet.

Why Skaphandrus? We are inspired by a symbol that is associated with diving and at the same time to the human aspect. The name Skaphandrus comes from the Portuguese word "escafrandro" which means "hermetically sealed equipment, but where air does penetrate through an air pump, that divers wear to work under water."

The Skaphandrus.com begun in 2008 in Portugal, and in Portuguese, which has its visitors number growing not only in Portugal, as everywhere in the world. This year we hope to continue with this trend, making Skaphandrus.com a major source of information for diving on the Internet.
