Name: Cairns
Description: Cairns is an Australian city that's located on the state of Queensland. It lies about 1,720 kilometers north of Brisbane and about 2,500 kilometers, also north of Sydney. Its population is about 130,000 inhabitants. This city is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, composed of a massive chain of coral reefs. Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef represent some of the finest and most exotic diving in the world. In this location, you'll mainly find smooth seas, fascinating reefs, deep drop-offs, caves and marine life in abundance. The depths vary between 6 and 1000 meters, covering various levels of diving.

Water Temperature: The water temperature varies between 23° C in the winter and 28º C in the summer.
Diving Suit: Complete wet suit or wet suit with shorts.
Visibility under water: Visibility between 10 and 50 meters.
Climate: Cairns has a tropical climate. Temperatures vary between 22º C and 31º C in the summer and winter temperatures range from 17º C and 26º C.
How to get there: Cairns International Airport is the primary international gateway into the city and is also served by many domestic flights. Some international and domestic airlines operating services to and from Cairns include Jetstar, Air New Zealand, Qantas and Virgin Blue. Cairns also has a train station that's served by many rail companies conecting this location with many other Australian cities. Some of these cities are Brisbane, Townsville and Kuranda.
