| Description: | Cabo Frio is the main center of tourism on Lagos and it is localized at 159 km away from Rio de Janeiro. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and by the Araruama lagoon. The constant north-east winds form dunes of white and thin sand. A great producer of salt, its landscape is known by the typical windmills. The 37 beaches of the region offer great conditions to plunge and to practice aquatic sports, with perfect waves for the surfers and a rich fauna for the divers. Between a great variety of species which inhabit the local, we can easily see rays, turtles, lobsters and some fishes, on nocturn plunges. |
