| Description: | Ilhabela is one of the most interesting locals of plunging of Brasil. Considered the biggest shipwreck cemetery of the brasilean coast, it has 21 shipwrecks, from sailing-boats and cargo-boats to transatlantics and tankers. The diversity of plunges is the biggest of the paulist littoral, with more than 129 km of coast to be explored. Its deep is composed by big rocks, forming several caves and holes, where there is an abundant marine life and excelent submarine landscapes. The marine life is more marking on preserved points like the Ecological Sanctuary of Ilha das Cabras, which allows to plunge directly from the beach, with artificial reefs and a statue honouring Neptune. The shipwrecks around the island are the great attraction. Among them, the greatest maritime calamity of the brasilean coast: Principe das Asturias, which does not receive many visits due to the fact of its localization being on Ponta da Pirabura, which rarely offers conditions to a safe plunge. Other shipwrecks that deserve to be distinguished are: Darth, Velasquez and Santa Teresina after Ponta da Sela and Aymore, on the beach of Curral. |
