Beach del Carmen
Description:
In Beach del Carmen the experience of diving is unique. The reef offers some diving spots at medium depths between 12 and 15 meters (40 to 50 feet), such as Jardines, Moc-Che and Shangri-La, among others, with some large schools of fish and a very atractive variety of animal life and coral.
One of the most atractive spots at a medium depth is Tortugas (turtles), a place honoring its name, since it allows the spotting of giant turtles in the area. Another atractive and deep dive is at Mamá Viña, a ship wreck at almost 25 metres (82 ft), where barracudas are a common company.
For divers who like deep diving and have the required experience for it, it is possible to visit Cerebros, Los Arcos or Pared Verde, among others, where we can go as deep as 30 to 40 meters (98 to 131 feet) and where it's possible to spot bull sharks in some seasons of the year.
Water Temperature:
In the winter at around 24ºC in summer and 27ºC.
Diving Suit:
Complete wet suit or Wet suit with shorts.
Visibility under water:
At about 30 meters throughout the year, reaching peaks of 60 meters in the summer.
Climate:
Its climate is semi-tropical, with an average annual temperature of 25ºC.
How to get there:
To get to Beach del Carme, you have to go by plane to Cancun and then take a road trip that lasts 1 hour.
You can enjoy of its hotels, beaches, villas, from outdoor activities such as golf, surfing and, of course, diving, with or without the bottle.
Near the Beach del Carmen, you can visit places like the natural theme park of Xcaret, the island of Cozumel, the second largest barrier reef in the world, Tulum ruins, shopping, bars and restaurants.
