Placed at 5,7 miles away from Carvoeiro Cape, Berlengas archipelago is composed by three groups of islets: Berlenga Grande and adjacent reefs, Estelas and Farilhões-Forcadas, all with a distinct geologic nature from the near continental coast Farilhões are a group of small islands from Berlengas, also known as Farilhões-Forcadas, this group is about 3,5 miles away from the Berlengas lighthouse, on the direction NNW. On the profound waters, the divers can find, over 3 to 6 meters, shanny and over profounder waters they can find congers, hogfish, grey mullets and big shoals of sargus. Around 30 meters, we can find dory, black groupers and whiting-pouts. But not only fish predominates on the beauty of the marine fauna of Berlengas, but also starfish, echinus and cucumber-fish make part of the subaquatic beauty of this island. Octopus, cuttle-fish, dog-whelk, prawns, crayfish, crabs, barnacles, hydrarians and anemone are other type of typical species from the island's sea.

You need to go by car or bus to Peniche, then you have to take one of several maritime-tourist boats that allow access to the island throughout the year.
