Graciosa island offers to the plunge lovers several places to practice this sport, like shipwrecks, low oceanics, caves, etc: spectacular plunges among the limpid and translucent waters and at the same time, with many colours, due to its submarine fauna and flora. In spite of its graciousness, the conditions to plunge on this island are not the ideal due to the distance from the nearest hyperbaric camera and due to the unexistence of a transport camera. However, all of the island's littoral gives to the divers the opportunity to, under the translucent and covered by algae waters, find species like the spider-crab, crayfish, limpets, until fishes of many colours and sizes, mantles and other pelagic with big dimensions. Graciosa Island is a great place to relax and escape the stress of big cities. You can enjoy the scenery existing and make walks or rent a car and go visit the Caleira of Graciosa, the Mount of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, the Caverna do Enxofre and the Islet of the Whale (formation like a whale).
