Name: Lanzarote
Description: Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Island and diving is possible the whole year round. Lanzarote is volcanic in origin and near the shore the sea bed is sandy but it quickly drops away to steep volcanic walls. The volcanic landscape that is so impressive on the surface is equally as awe inspiring underwater with lava flows and cave formations providing divers with some fantastic places to explore. The rocks are covered in anemones, sponges and soft corals and are home to many types of fish such as Angel sharks, butterfly rays, barracudas, groupers, morays, amberjacks, sea bream, sardines, cuttlefish, octopus, seahorses, damselfish and wrasses. This a great local for caves, tunnels, walls and wrecks divers.
Geographical Location: Atlantic Ocean
Water Temperature: Water temperature in winter 18ºC in summer and 26ºC.
Diving Suit: Dry suit or wet suit for the winter months.
Visibility under water: Visibility between 10 and 30 meters.
Climate: The climate is warm and dry with average daytime temperatures ranging from about 21°C (70°F) in January to 29°C (84°F) in August.
How to get there: The fastest and comfortable means of transport is the plane, with several weekly flights.
When to go: June   July   August   September   October  
Other Activities: Lanzarote has plenty to do even though it’s a small island, whether you’re looking for a taste of culture, some natural beauty or fun. You will have cultural attractions ( cultural centers, museums, etc) , natural attractions (beaches, natural wonders and Mirador tour), theme parks and some castles to visit.
