| Description: | The Mafia Island Marine Park was established because of the fabulous wealth and diversity of corals and fishes and the diving is spectacular. SCUBA diving is possible throughout the year but is best from September-March. There are lots of big fish and a chance to see dolphins, rays, sharks and other rarities. Mafia offers probably the best all-round diving experience in East Africa, with protected shallow coral gardens and reefs inside Chole Bay for beginners and novices as well as deep water diving, sheer walls and exhilarating drift dives for the advanced and expert divers. |

| Climate: | Zanzibar is warm almost all the year round with heavy rains from March to May and lesser rains during October and November. February is the hottest month with a maximum average temperature of 29 degrees Celsius, while in August the temperature falls to 21 degrees Celsius. |
| How to get there: | From Dar es Salaam there are daily flights to the Kilondoni airfield on Mafia as well as frequent flights from Zanzibar. It is approximately 30 minutes by air from Dar es Salaam and 45 minutes from Zanzibar. |

| Other Activities: | In addition to diving, you can enjoy the various excursions, where you can learn more about the island. If you prefer you can visit the National Park of Mafia. |
