| Description: | Khao Lak is establishing itself as a dive destination comparative to its neighbors Phuket and Krabi. Khao Lak is only 60 Km east of the Similian and Surin Islands. Its possible to book single day speedboat trips and hovercraft tours so that you can still do a few dives at the nearest Surin an Similan dives sites. All the dive shops have found and created many artificial reefs just offshore, but the only offshore dive worth mentioning is the Boonsung Wreck at only 20 minutes away. Khao Lak is a cheep and relaxing place, perfect to familiarize yourself with diving before joining the speedboats and liveaboards. |

| How to get there: | You can go to Khao Lak by car from Bangkok with a duration of 11 hours or from the airport of Phuket with a duration of 55 minutes. You also have the possibility to go by bus either from Bangkok or from Phuket. By Plane there aren't direct flights to Khao Lak being the Phuket airport the nearest. |

| Other Activities: | Besides the beaches along the coast, particularly the Thai Muang, that in November to February, has turtles laying their eggs, you can explore the falls from Nam Tok Lampi and Nam Tok Tone Prai. |
