| Description: | Along the mainland, Ko Lanta is an archipelago of 52 islands, 15 of which are part of the National Marine Park Ko Lanta, which is the natural habitat of many species. With about 25 km, the fishing island of Ko Lanta Yai is the main island. Covered with forested hills and a good choice for those seeking isolation. The footprints of monkeys and lizards continue to be more common in these islands then the footprints of humans. Most of the beaches on Koh Lanta have golden sands and are perfect for swimming and diving. The island is a diving or snorkelling lover’s paradise with its rich waters, coral reefs, limestone rock outcrops, rock reefs, seamounts, pinnacles, undersea caverns, tunnels and sunken ships. |

| How to get there: | Ko Lanta is easy and not expensive to be reach from Phuket and Bangkok. The island is serviced by passenger and car ferries from Krabi & Phi Phi. Krabi is the most convenient gateway to Ko Lanta if coming from Bangkok, and if arriving from Phuket passage is via either Phi Phi or Krabi. Trang also serves as a regional transit point for those coming in from the south |
