| Description: | East Timor offers the adventurous diver the opportunity to explore the unexplored. The diving is world class with kilometres of majestic walls, that drop off into the deep blue sea, acres of untouched reefs, and an abundance of prolific marine life. The best time of the year for diving is February to June and September to December. Atauro Island, also Pulau Atauro, Ataúro, is a small island situated 25km north of Dili, East Timor, on the extinct Wetar segment of the volcanic Inner Banda Arc, between the Indonesian islands of Alor and Wetar. Politically it comprises one of the subdistricts of the Dili District of East Timor. It is about 25 km long and 9 km wide, about 105 km² in area, and is inhabited by about 8000 people. |

| Climate: | The climate is hot and humid, with average temperature ranging from 19ºC and 30ºC. The dry season is between May and September and the rainy season usually occurs between the months of October and April. |
| How to get there: | The only means of transport to go to Dili is the plane, with several flights a day.Then take a ferry to Atauro with a duration of 2 hours. |
