| Description: | With a vast amount of individual islands, Orkney has many miles of coastline and wherever you are you will never be more than a stones throw from a great diving location. Sitting on the edge of the Atlantic Gulf Stream Orkney benefits from clean nutrient rich waters which in turn feed the diverse marine life. This vast and varied amount of marine life, combined with a huge number of wrecked ships, create one of the best cold water diving locations in the world. The diving in Orkney is probably most famous for the German Fleet of World War One which was scuttled in Scapa Flow. |
| Water Temperature: | Water temperature ranges from about -8ºC in winter to 13ºC in summer. |
| Diving Suit: | Dry suit. |
| Visibility under water: | It has an average depth between 30 and 50 meters, making it an easy access for divers although the visibility of the waters are reduced. |
| Climate: | Orkney has a cool temperate climate; the climate is remarkably mild and steady for such a northerly latitude, due to the influence of the Gulf Stream. The average temperature for the year is 8°C, for winter 4°C and for summer 12°C. |
| How to get there: | There are two ways to get to Orkney : by air (Kirkwall Airport) or ferry. |

| Other Activities: | Besides diving can only visit the various monuments, churches and museums, thereby to know the history of the island during the two world wars. |
