| Description: | This area is ideal for resort courses as well as for advanced divers. The reef starts at 5 meters and slopes gradually up to 18 meters, where it becomes suddenly a steep wall. The famous "Sandfalls" are concentrated on the top of the underwater canyon about 27 meters deep at the bottom of which it’s forms the Bay of San Lucas. At about 27 meters you can do a beautiful wall dive and observe a small drop of sand. It is also a great place for night dives - the Bay of San Lucas is a National Marine Sanctuary - and you can only take pictures and make bubbles. Here there are also a few drops of sand (Rivers of Sand). The falls of sand resembling waterfalls, are composed only of sand. Pelican Rock has to be visited by all photography and underwater video lovers. |
| Fauna and Flora: | It is a calm protected place with a wide variety of tropical fish and invertebrates. There are large groups of small and large tropical fish. The slopes are covered with attractive gorgonians. It is common to see rays and big fish swimming out to deep waters. |
