| Description: | It's located In a sheltered bay with little current, in the south coast of São Miguel, less than 100 meters from the shore and in front of the resort-hotel Caloura. There are large arches that can be crossed through and corridors of basaltic rock. You can choose various dive sites between the end of the Caloura beach to the Ponta da Galera. On the coast there's a serie of arches, galleries and caves, which vary both in number and in size. At 14 meters, the surrounding area is formed by gaps of sand, rock blocks and pebble of small dimensions. |
| Fauna and Flora: | There are parrotfish, salema, sea bream, blacktail comber, axillary wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, ornate wrasse, canary damselfish and azores chromis. Between the cracks in the rocks, black morays, black-blotched moray. Yellow mouth barracudas, anchovies, amberjacks, blue runners, white trevally, salmon and common stingrays will be among the corners of the arches. |
