| Description: | This dive site is characterized by being a great pinnacle that reaches about 5 meters below the surface. At 19 meters deep is an open cave. Vulcan Rock is an agglomerate of rocks off Karbonkelberg, southwest of Hout Bay. The waters in this dive site can be clear but very cold. This is a good place to make drift dives, but usually for more experienced divers It takes a short boat trip from the Hout Bay port. Most dive shops and rental boats travel to this location during the summer months. |
| Fauna and Flora: | In terms of fauna and flora, this dive site is covered with colorful marine vegetation such as hard and soft corals of cold water, nudibranchs, Corydoras nattereri and lobsters. There also many seals and fish as hottentots, tope shark and other species. |

| Maximum depth: | 40 m |
| Water Temperature: | The water temperature ranges from cold to mild. The sea on the Atlantic coast of Cape Town has an annual temperature of about 13° C due to the cold Benguela currents. On the coast of False Bay, the water temperature varies between 16 and 17º C throughout the year due to the mild Agulhas currents. |
| Diving Suit: | Complete wet suit for the False Bay coast and semi-dry suit for the Atlantic coast of Cape Town. |
| Visibility under water: | Visibility between 10 and 30 meters. |
