Common Name: Scrawled cowfish
Description: The dorsal and anal fins are composed of 10 soft rays. The body is covered with dermal hexagonal plaques. It has a prominent spine in front of each eye, and another that is projected in each lower rear corner of the body armor. It feeds on sessile invertebrates such as tunicates, gorgonians and anemones, as well as slow crustaceans, sponges, hermit crabs and marine plants.
Habitat: Associated with reefs. It inhabits mainly algae beds at depths up to 80 meters.
Color: Gold to yellow body, with broad blue lines; the lower parts are whitish.
Dimensions: Up to 55 centimeters in total lenght.
