Common Name: Pipehorse
Description: It has the form of transition between seahorses and pipefish. The tail of this fish has a small caudal fin. The skeleton is modified, forming a rigid armor of rings around the body. The dorsal fin is small, spineless, located in the middle of the body. The snout is elongated forming a tube with a small mouth in the extremity. It is usually spotted. The male carries the eggs in a pocket located at the bottom of the tail. It feeds on zooplankton, fish larvae, small crustaceans, etc. ..
Habitat: Demersal, inhabiting depths of up to 16 meters.
Dimensions: Up to 7.5 centimeters in lenght.
