Common Name: Orange Elephant Ear Sponge
Description: Uneven texture often with twists and dips. It grows in various shapes and patterns. Often form large mounds and / or are crusted in large parts of the reef. Occasionally they can be found hung on walls in the form of rounded structures perpendicular to the wall (similar structures to large ears).
Habitat: Reefs and walls in areas preferably with some circulation of water at depths between 10 to 40m.
Color: Orange and often with different organisms living on its surface (tunicates, hydroids and others)
Dimensions: Shaped mound or plate usually with dimensions between 0.5 to 2m.
Geographical Distribution: Caribbean Sea Western Central Atlantic
