Common Name: Variable Boring Sponge
Description: It has very different shapes as encrusting sponge of flat aspect, looks like tubes and fingers that extend from the heads of corals and even in the form of small tubes attached to dead coral. The acid that secreting visually is not harmful but causes tunnels and cameras in the coral in which the sponge based and increases the area of fixation (growing well into the corals).
Habitat: Coral reefs and walls in depths between 9 and 40m.
Color: Sulfur to yellow citron, occasionally it can be white.
Dimensions: It has a wide variety of forms but they all have between 5 to 10cm.
Geographical Distribution: Caribbean Sea Western Central Atlantic
