Common Name: Longnose lancetfish
Description: Fish of this species have an extremely long and high dorsal fin. The mouth is large with two erect teeth on the palatine. It is a clear fish in general, iridescent, darker dorsally. All fins are dark brown or black. They feed on fish, cephalopods, tunicates and crustaceans.
Habitat: Bathypelagic environment, occurring at depths between 0 and 1830 meters.
Dimensions: Up to 215 centimeters in lenght.
