Common Name: Island kelpfish
Description: Small and tall fish with a long dorsal fin that extends from the back of the head to an area near the tail fin. Long pectoral fin.
Habitat: It inhabits rocky areas, from the subtidal to 49 meters deep.
Color: Red bands and 6-7 dark irregular dark stripes on the sides. Red or orange spots on the head. Red-orange dorsal fin with a green area in front. Olive-green anal fin. The dorsal and anal fins usually have clear margins. The other fins are mostly yellow or orange.
Dimensions: Up to 10 inches in total length.
