Common Name: Allis shad
Description: Head's length smaller than the body's height. Eighty-five to a hundred and thirty branchitaenias on the first branchial arch, bigger than the branchial filaments. Species which requires protection.
Habitat: Pelagic species, littoral; it penetrates in rivers, where it makes the spawning.
Color: Greenish-blue coloured back and silvered abdomen; dark dorsal stain near the operculum's board (sometimes followed by smaller ones).
Dimensions: It reaches 70 cm in length.
