Common Name: Red Snapping Shrimp
Description: Each one of the first appendages has a set of pincers,one with a normal dimension and the other with bigger dimensions, which the shrimp uses for defense shutting it tightly to produce a sound that scares the predators and helps to catch prey. If subject to sudden movements generally attacks with the pincers, however, if it lands quietly its hand near the anemone it can collects gently cuticles from the skin.
Habitat: It lives with the anemone Bartholomeu annulata at depths between 1 and 12 meters.
Color: Red antennae and white alternated stripes. Body from bright red to orange brown with white marks and spots.Tail with blue marks.
Dimensions: It has between 2.5 to 5 cm in length.
Geographical Distribution: Western Central Atlantic
