Common Name: Erect Rope Sponge
Description: Branched rope-like sponge, usually grows upward from the substrate forming an erect structure. Soft but with porous surface, breaks easily. Circular excurrent openings, scattered trough surface without color differences between the lip and the rest of the sponge.
Habitat: Coral reefs and ocasionally walls, at depths between 12 and 21m. In the walls they easy have similarities with other species.
Color: Usually red however it may have up to brown shades.
Dimensions: Between 60 to 105cm it has a thin and long form wich resembles ropes upwards the substrate.
Geographical Distribution: Caribbean Sea Western Central Atlantic
