Common Name: Redtail surfperch
Description: Tablet fish with continuous dorsal fin with 9-10 thorns and 25-28 soft rays, and forked caudal fin. The longest dorsal spines are much longer than the soft rays. Anal fin with 3 thorns and 28-31 soft rays. The scales are cycloid.
Habitat: Sandy areas of exposed coasts. Appears in depths not more than to 7 meters.
Color: Silver (sometimes bronze) with a light olive tint on the back. All fins are often reddish. 8 to 11 bars to reddish brown on the sides.
Dimensions: Up to 41 inches in total lenght.
