Common Name: Fringed pipefish
Description: The skeleton is modified, forming a rigid armor of rings around the body. The dorsal fin is small, spineless, located in the middle of the body. There is no anal fin. The snout is short forming a tube with a small mouth in the extremity. They usually have three small whitish bars on each ring of the body and three black spots on the upper body. The male carries the eggs in a pocket located at the bottom of the tail. It feeds on zooplankton, fish larvae, small crustaceans, etc. ..
Habitat: Demersal.
Dimensions: Up to 10 centimeters in lenght.
