Common Name: Insular pipefish
Description: The skeleton is modified, forming a rigid armor of rings around the body. The dorsal fin is small, spineless, located in the middle of the body. There is no anal fin. The snout is short forming a tube with a small mouth in the extremity. It presents a varied pattern, usually with bands. The male carries the eggs in a pocket located at the bottom of the tail. It feeds on zooplankton, fish larvae, small crustaceans, etc. ..
Dimensions: Up to 12.5 centimeters in lenght.
