Common Name: Deep body anchovy
Description: The anal fin consists of 27-34 soft rays. Deep and compressed body. Pointy snout. It does not have spines on the fins and lateral line. The upper jaw extends beyond the eye.
Habitat: Neritic pelagic. It inhabits depths between 0 and 50 meters.
Color: Brownish to green on the upper body and silver on the lower body. It has a bright silver band along the flank.
Dimensions: Up to 13.3 centimeters in total lenght.
Geographical Distribution: Eastern Central Pacific
