Common Name: Cuban anchovy
Description: Small head, very short snout. It has a narrow silver band along the body (with a similar width to the diameter of the pupil) that becomes less visible in the anterior portion of the body. The body is grayish with a few melanophores on the upper part. The dorsal fin originates at a point above the area in front of the anal fin.
Habitat: Neritic pelagic, in coastal waters at depths between 0 and 60 meters.
Color: Grayish.
Dimensions: Up to 10 centimeters in lenght.
Geographical Distribution: Western Atlantic
