Common Name: Broad-striped anchovy
Description: Long snout slightly smaller than the eye diameter. It has a silver band along the body, less wide then the diameter of the eye, with a dark line above. The dorsum is greenish and the head is slightly yellowish. The dorsal fin originates at a point above the area in front of the anal fin, and ends above the frontal rays of the anal fin. They feed on copepods in juveniles, and posteriorly of gastropods, foraminifera and occasionaly of ostracods and annelids.
Habitat: Neritic pelagic, at depths between 0 and 70 meters.
Color: Silver with greenish dorsum.
Dimensions: Up to 15.3 centimeters in lenght.
