Common Name: Shortfinger anchovy
Description: Long body. The dorsal fin originates at a point above the area in front of the anal fin, and ends above the anterior rays of the anal fin. The snout is pointed and long, about equal in length to the diameter of the eye. It has a silver band on the body of a width equal to the diameter of the eye, with a black line above. The body is dark, sometimes iridescent on the upper part. It feeds on plankton.
Habitat: Associated with reefs, at depths between 1 and 54 meters.
Dimensions: Up to 12 centimeters in lenght.
