Common Name: Bay anchovy
Description: Small head, very short snout. It has a narrow silver band along the body that becomes less visible in the anterior portion of the body. The body is grayish with a few melanophores on the upper part. It feeds mainly on mysids and copepods, and also on small fishes, gastropods and isopods.
Habitat: Associated with reefs, at depths between 1 and 36 meters.
Color: Grayish.
Dimensions: Up to 10 centimeters.
Geographical Distribution: Western Atlantic
