Common Name: New Guinean frogfish
Description: Fish of globular form with modified pectoral fins resembling legs, complete with "feet". The small gill openings are not covered by bony plates, and the first dorsal spine (illicium ") is important to attract prey which it feeds. The illicium is short. Usually has nine rays in the pectoral fin.
Habitat: Inhabits shallow waters, from surface to 2.5 meters.
Color: It can be brown, dark violet, white, or gray with dots and white or black. spots.
Dimensions: Up to 14 inches in total length.
Geographical Distribution: Indo-Pacific
