Common Name: Warty frogfish
Description: Fish of globular form with modified pectoral fins resembling legs, complete with "feet". The small gill openings are not covered by bony plates, and the first dorsal spine is important to attract prey which it feeds. This thorn, called "illicium" is long. It has 3 spines and 11-12 soft dorsal rays. The anal fin consists of 6-7 soft rays.
Habitat: Associated with reefs, consisting of algae, spongiform, soft corals and corals with large polyps. Inhabits depths between 1 and 15 meters.
Color: May be yellow or creamy white with saddle-shaped patches of pink, white or brown and red spots on the body. It can also be yellow-green, dark brown, light brown, black or completely red.
Dimensions: Up to 15 inches in total length.
