Common Name: Longlure frogfish
Description: Small, globular fish. It has a tubular opercular opening below each pectoral fin. The pectoral fins are small and are used for locomotion. The dorsal, anal and caudal fins are rounded with the spiny rays deeply embedded in body tissue. The body is yellowish, green or pink. This fish has a large and very dark ocellus, usually with a clear center, below the rear third of the dorsal fin. There are three smaller ocelli along the middle of the caudal fin. The anal fin also has a large ocellus. The modified ray of the dorsal fin is elongated with a lure on the end.
Habitat: Associated with reefs, at depths between 0 and 66 meters.
Color: Yellowish, green or pink.
Dimensions: Up to 20 centimeters in lenght.
Geographical Distribution: Western Atlantic Eastern Atlantic
