Common Name: Coin-bearing frogfish
Description: Globose body, a little compressed. Pectoral fin on the lobe's extremity, continuous with the body. Second dorsal radium not united to the head by the skin, which is spinulous through the whole body. Extremity of the first dorsal radium (ilicium) with a variable shape, from spherical to elongated with several filaments.
Habitat: Infra and circalittoral.
Color: Variable colour, uniform redish colour, stained, usually with a dark ocellus on the dorsal base.
Dimensions: It reaches 9 cm in length.
Geographical Distribution: Atlantic Ocean
