| Description: | Small, globular fish. It has a tubular opercular opening below each pectoral fin. The pectoral fins are small and are used for locomotion. The dorsal, anal and caudal fins are rounded with the spiny rays deeply embedded in body tissue. The head and the body are yellowish, without markings, except a small dark brown spot at the base of the ninth spinous dorsal ray. The modified dorsal fin is short with a bulbar lure provided with filaments in the end. |
