Common Name: Striated frogfish
Description: Small, globular fish. It has a tubular opercular opening below each pectoral fin. The pectoral fins are small and are used for locomotion. The dorsal, anal and caudal fins are rounded with the spiny rays deeply embedded in body tissue. It is usually light yellow, orange, green, gray or brown with black stripes or elongated spots, solid black at times. It has a lure similar to a worm in the extremity of a modified and relatively short dorsal spine.
Habitat: Associated with reefs. It inhabits depths between 10 and 219 meters.
Color: Variable colors.
Dimensions: Up to 25 centimeters in lenght.
Geographical Distribution: Western Atlantic Eastern Atlantic Indo-Pacific
