Common Name: Deepbody boarfish
Description: The body of this fish is deeper than long. The tail fin is rounded. The scales are small and ctenoid. It is red, darker on the upper body. The fins are reddish. It has eight spines on the dorsal fin and 31-37 soft rays in the second dorsal fin. The eyes are large. It feeds on small mollusks and crustaceans.
Habitat: Demersal, inhabiting depths between 50 and 900 meters.
Color: Red.
Dimensions: Up to 30.5 centimeters in lenght.
Geographical Distribution: Pacific Ocean Western Atlantic Eastern Atlantic
