| Description: | The sub-adults and adults are greenish to brownish gray with three to five longitudinal bands and orange-red dots on the head and body. Largest adults have no white lines. Juveniles smaller than 9.5 centimeters, have alternating longitudinal rows of orange-yellow and blue, with one or two black spots at the base of the tail and on the dorsal fin. |
| Habitat: | Lagoons and frontal slopes of protected reefs in clear waters and areas rich in coral growth. It occurs at depths between 5 and 80 meters. |
