Common Name: Atlantic Black Seahare
Description: Muscular mantle wide with prominent tabs on the back of the body, which are used as a swimming organ of this body. If disturbed it releases a dark purple ink, which they use to prevent predators from using its vision as a way of pursuing them, while they are swiming to a safety place. Deposition of eggs rose in linear sets in a shape of a rope.
Habitat: Lives in bottoms with abundant algal growth, at depths between 3 and 25 meters.
Color: Body reddish brown to almost black, occasionally with some spots and stripes.
Dimensions: It can be up to 36 cm long, however, it usually has between 10 and 25cm.
Geographical Distribution: Western Central Atlantic
