Common Name: Rockweed gunnel
Description: Dorsal fin composed of 83 to 84 spines, anal fin with 1 spine and 32-38 soft rays. Pectoral fins very small and rounded caudal fin. It feeds on small crustaceans and mollusks.
Habitat: Inhabitant of the intertidal, found in rocks that have algae tidal pools and coastal areas. Occurs at depths up to 9 meters.
Color: Mostly uniform color, ranging from bright green to reddish or brownish, depending on the color of algae in which they live. Usually has a dark band below the eye. Sometimes has dark spots in a row in the middle of the sides.
Dimensions: Up to 23 inches in total length
