Common Name: Bigtooth cardinalfish
Description: Fish with large eyes, separated dorsal fins and two anal spines. The scales are ctenoids. The body is usually salmon pink. It has a dark band from the tip of the snout through the eye to the upper part of the operculum. The upper mandible has big teeth in front, and the bottom is provided with a row of long teeth. There is no black mark below the rear base of the dorsal fin. It feeds at night on many small organisms, including plankton.
Habitat: It inhabits deep exposed reefs and rocky outcrops. It occurs at depths between 20 and 300 meters.
Color: Salmon pink.
Dimensions: Up to 11 centimeters in total lenght.
