Common Name: Belted Cardinalfish
Description: This fish has a dark vertical band that extends from the rear of the second dorsal fin to the anal fin, one on the caudal peduncle, and another, in a darker shade, at the base of the caudal fin. At night, a wide band or dark saddle-shaped spot becomes visible on the caudal peduncle. They feed in the water column of zooplankton.
Habitat: It inhabits reef faces and slopes at depths between 3 and 55 meters.
Dimensions: Up to 6.5 centimeters.
