Common Name: Girdled Cardinalfish, Blackbelted Cardinalfish
Description: This fish is easily identified by having two vertical red lines behind the eyes. They may or may not have a wide black band on the body. They form dense shoals over heads of Acropora spp. and Porites cylindrica .
Habitat: Sheltered bays and lagoons, where it can be observed in adjacent reefs or reef patches. It occurs at depths between 2 and 45 meters.
Dimensions: Up to 8 centimeters.
