Common Name: Spotted driftfish
Description: The caudal peduncle is narrow with two keels on each side. It is a silver fish, bluish on the dorsum. It has many spots and dark specks. The specks are dispersed and smaller than the pupil. The pelvic fin, the first dorsal, the operculum and pre-operculum are blackened. In juveniles, the specks are in pupil size or larger, and tend to form bars. They have a blackened bar going through the eye.
Habitat: Demersal, inhabiting depths between 0 and 500 meters.
Color: Silver, bluish on the dorsum.
Dimensions: Up to 25 centimeters in total lenght.
