Common Name: Arctic hookear sculpin
Description: This fish has 7-8 dorsal spines, 12-13 dorsal soft rays and 10-12 soft rays on the anal fin. The tail fin is rounded. It is light, with patches of dark color, light brown or reddish; the dorsal fin has small rounded white spots over a dark background, especially distinct in males; the anal and pectoral fins have dark crossbars, the tail fin has a spot at the base . It feeds on invertebrates.
Habitat: Found in sandy muddy or rocky bottoms. It occurs at depths between 13 and 598 meters.
Color: Light, with patches of dark color, light brown or reddish.
Dimensions: Up to 10 centimeters in total lenght.
Geographical Distribution: Northwest Atlantic Northeast Atlantic
