| Description: | Large ophiurid with strongly ramified arms. Active at night, it places itself on the reef where it stretches the arms to capture floating particles. When distressed it curls the arms and their ramifications and slides into the first crevice it encounters. The common name is a reminder of its appearance when the arms are curled up. |
