Common Name: Bearded fireworm
Description: Oval, very clear, bright reded caruncle, constituted by six to eigth pleated leaflets; extends itself until the fourth septigerum. Yellowish or redish ventral face. Brownish dorsal face, with two contigous sides on the segment's division (or a white line); red gills; white silks. Urticating.
Habitat: Infralittoral population (common in the Azores and Madeira).
Color: Oval caruncle, very evident, brigth red. Ventral face yellowish or redish. Dorsal face brownish, with two contiguous sides on the segment´s division (or a white line); red gills; white silks.
Dimensions: 6 cm to 30 cm in length.
Geographical Distribution: Atlantic Ocean
